Andreae filter

An Andreae filter is based on the principle behind inertia where particles are carried in the air stream and because of the filter's shape caught in v-shapes while the air continues practically unhindered through holes in the top of the v-shape.

Since the air is not passing through the actual filter material but follows its own 'route' the static pressure can be kept at a low level which also goes for the energy costs.

Besides the low static pressure, a high lifetime is also experienced on these type of filters as there is no risk of the filter blocking as can be the case in conventional filtering.
